USW’s second half surge proved to be the difference between themselves and the Royal Agricultural University at the USW this afternoon. When USW captain Hope Cook was asked what she made of the game she replied “The team really came together as a family today. We’ve played really well the last few weeks and it really today”. The praise continued for her side as she went on to say “Defence played absolutely amazing today, we’ve really been putting into practise our defensive drills in our Monday training and its really starting to show. We’re thinking as one and not individually anymore”.
Cook however was keen to emphasise the teams ambition was more focused on the girls progression in the sport when asked about her ambitions for the team What are your expectations for the rest of the season “Whatever outcome we’ll be happy with. A few of the girls have found their passion with the sport, if they just carry on playing for a local team or other Uni that would be great”. Looking forward to next week’s fixture, Cook was sure her side could take momentum forward “We’re very confident, our confidence has grown massively since the start of the season. Everyone’s got a much better attitude going forward.
